The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA), Division of Business and Finance (DBF), is seeking a detail-oriented professional to join the Central Services Bureau (CSB) as an Accounting Specialist II. Working under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of state financial operations by managing complex fiscal data across multiple automated accounting, procurement, and human resource management systems.
In this dynamic position, you will serve as a trusted liaison providing expert guidance to client agencies on accounting principles and procedures while ensuring full compliance with the State of Arizona Accounting Manual (SAAM). Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills will be essential to analyzing vendor and customer concerns, resolving complex financial issues, and ensuring accurate document authorization, coding, and pricing.

Job Duties- Document Review & Compliance: Review and analyze financial documentation for accuracy, proper authorization, correct coding, and adherence to relevant statutes and policies. Ensure pricing aligns with established purchase orders and contracts.
- Transaction Management & Data Entry: Prepare and enter accurate transaction information into various state automated financial, procurement, and human resource systems.
- System Reconciliation & Error Resolution: Review and reconcile accounts, invoices aging, statements, and general ledger reports across accounting systems. Identify errors and make necessary revisions to maintain financial integrity.
- Cash Handling & Deposits: Prepare and process deposits in compliance with established cash-handling policies and procedures, ensuring accurate reconciliation with the accounting system.
- Agency Support & Problem Solving: Serve as a resource for client agencies and internal divisions by researching and analyzing fiscal data, answering inquiries, and resolving complex financial issues or vendor/customer concerns.
