Senior Accountant | Real Estate Investment | Walnut Creek / East Bay Compensation:
$100K–$130K base + 10% bonus
Location/schedule:Walnut Creek. Five days onsite for the first 2–3 months, then flexibility to work from home one day per week. Dedicated parking available and accessible from BART.

A growing, privately held real estate investment firm is expanding its accounting team and hiring two Senior Accountants. This is an excellent opportunity for a sharp, motivated accountant to join a close-knit team, gain exposure to a diverse multi-entity portfolio, and grow alongside strong Controller/CFO mentors.
This is a hands-on, high-visibility role supporting an established real estate platform with investments across multiple property types. You’ll own close for an assigned portfolio of entities and work across property, partnership, and corporate accounting.
What you’ll do:- Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for assigned entities
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Review property‑level financial reporting prepared by third‑party management companies
- Support intercompany accounting, consolidations, investor reporting, and lender reporting
- Assist with cash flow, debt, fixed assets, budgets, audit, and tax support
- Work across evolving systems and help support automation/process‑improvement initiatives
- Partner closely with accounting leadership and help support a collaborative, growing team
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of the full close process, balance sheet, and P&L/income statement
- CPA or public accounting foundation is a plus, but not required
- Multi‑entity, real estate, property management, partnership, or investment accounting experience is helpful—not required
- Strong Excel and systems skills; interest in AI and new technologies is a plus
- Someone self‑directed, detail‑oriented, motivated, and excited to learn the business
