An established and growing specialist accountancy practice based in Wilmslow is looking to recruit a Senior Payroll professional to join their payroll team.
The role will involve managing payroll services for a portfolio of clients, with a particular focus on consultant and medical professional clients. You will have regular direct contact with clients, providing support and guidance and ensuring payrolls are processed accurately and efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working closely with clients and is looking to join a friendly, specialist practice where client relationships are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities- Manage payroll processing for a portfolio of clients
- Process monthly payrolls accurately and within deadlines
- Deal directly with clients regarding payroll queries
- Provide clear guidance and support to clients
- Manage payroll-related queries and resolve issues efficiently
- Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, deductions and other payroll elements
- Liaise with clients to obtain any required payroll information
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records
- Ensure payroll work is completed in line with relevant deadlines and requirements
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Work closely with the wider accounts and tax teams where required
- Previous experience working within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice
- Strong experience managing payrolls for multiple clients
- Confident dealing directly with clients
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to explain payroll matters clearly to clients who may have limited financial knowledge
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
- Experience working with consultant, professional or medical clients would be beneficial but is not essential
- Relevant payroll qualification or equivalent experience
- Payroll qualifications such as CIPP are desirable
- Strong practical payroll experience will also be considered in place of formal qualifications
- Hybrid working available following initial training
- Typically 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home
- Flexible working between 8:00am and 6:00pm
- Core hours of 10:00am - 4:00pm
- Suitable for candidates commuting from Wilmslow, Stockport, Macclesfield and surrounding areas
- Parking pass available as part of the package
- £32,000 - £38,000 depending on experience
