Tax Associate

Location: San Francisco Bay Area (commutable distance from San Francisco)

An independent CPA firm with a tax practice built around high net worth and ultra high net worth families. The team is tight, genuinely likes each other, and loves good food and a good party.

The Role
You will prepare and review individual returns first, then grow into corporate and LLC work, serving UHNW/HNW families and their entities. You will work closely with managers and see the full picture of a family's tax life.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex individual (1040) returns for HNW/UHNW clients
• Prepare partnership/LLC and corporate returns
• Research tax issues and support planning projects
• Review work of junior staff and help train them
• Communicate with clients and managers on open items and deadlines

Requirements

• 3-5 years of tax staff experience in public accounting
• Strong individual tax background; entity experience a plus
• CPA or actively pursuing, EA considered
• Bachelor's in accounting or related field

Schedule

• On site full time for the first 3 months, then 2 days work from home per week
• Busy season: 60-70 hours per week
• Off season: 40 hours per week
• Health insurance: $80/month employee premium for individual coverage, $60/month additional for family
• HSA with a 3% employer contribution (no employee match required)
• SEP-IRA with a 7% employer contribution (no employee match required)
• 11 paid holidays
• April 16 off, plus a firm party on April 15
