Manager, Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting

Our client is a media/technology firm. They seek a Manager, Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities Research and analyze complex accounting matters, new accounting standards, and significant business transactions under U.S. GAAPManage technical accounting processes related to revenue recognition, lease accounting, capitalized software, financing transactions, and impairment assessments

Prepare and review technical accounting memoranda, financial statement disclosures, and supporting documentation for SEC filings

Evaluate the accounting impact of complex transactions and guide appropriate accounting treatment

Support the month-end and quarter-end close by reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and technical accounting analyses

Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements

Partner with Finance, Legal, Tax, FP&A, and other business teams to provide technical accounting guidance and training

Review the work of accounting staff and provide technical support on complex accounting matters

Coordinate technical accounting and financial reporting requests with external auditors and regulatory stakeholders

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and support the implementation of new accounting standards

Requirements5-8 years of technical accounting experience

Commercial industry required

Minimum of 1 year of management experienceSEC reporting experience is a plusCPA required
