- Supporting the preparation and checking of both payroll runs, ensuring contractor pay, client billing and margins all align
- Posting and reconciling transactions in Xero, including sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations and control accounts
- Allocating and reconciling cash across Wise, HSBC and Lloyds, while supporting junior team members
- Supporting the Finance Manager with drawdowns and reconciliations on the RBD facility around billing runs
- Processing contractor and supplier invoices, payment runs and expense claims
- Managing credit control and chasing overdue payments while maintaining positive client relationships
- Supporting month-end, including journals, accruals, prepayments and management accounts
- Assisting with VAT returns and keeping records accurate and audit-ready
- Helping to improve, document and embed finance processes as the team restructures
- Identifying what isn’t working and helping shape more efficient ways of working
The ideal candidate will have:

- Hands-on experience with Bullhorn and Xero
- Good knowledge of sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations and cash allocation
- Experience with credit control and the confidence to chase outstanding payments professionally
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- The ability to stay calm and accurate when working to billing and payroll deadlines
- A practical, proactive approach and the confidence to challenge processes and suggest improvements
