M.L. Lichtenberg & Associates, LLC is seeking an experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer to join our team for the upcoming 2027 tax season.
This seasonal position will run approximately January 1 through April 15
, with an expected schedule of 30–60 hours per week depending on availability, workload, and experience. Remote work is available, and a company laptop and necessary software will be provided.
The primary responsibility will be preparing individual federal and state income tax returns. Our goal is for this position to prepare approximately 150-200 individual tax returns (+/-)
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare primarily individual federal and state income tax returns
- Review client tax documents and identify missing or inconsistent information
- Prepare accurate, well-organized returns for CPA review
- Prepare and maintain supporting work papers electronically.
- Communicate questions and outstanding items to our clients & team
- Work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Manage workload and deadlines throughout tax season
Prior professional tax preparation experience is strongly preferred. Experience with Intuit Pro Series is a significant plus.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable preparing individual returns that may include Schedule C businesses, rental properties, investment income, K-1s, itemized deductions, and multi-state filings.

Candidates with significant tax preparation experience who can independently produce accurate, review-ready returns will be considered toward the higher end of the range.
