Accounts Payable Specialist

Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support daily payables operations. This fully remote contract position is ideal for someone who can manage invoice processing with accuracy, maintain organized payment workflows, and help ensure vendors are paid on time. The person in this role will contribute to efficient financial operations by handling key accounts payable tasks and supporting consistent transaction records.

Responsibilities:

- Review incoming invoices, assign the correct account codes, and prepare transactions for accurate entry into the accounts payable process.

- Process vendor payments through ACH and check runs while following established timelines and internal controls.

- Verify invoice details against supporting documentation to resolve discrepancies before payment is released.

- Maintain complete and organized payment records to support reporting, reconciliation, and audit readiness.

- Communicate with vendors and internal partners to address billing questions, payment status updates, and documentation needs.

- Assist with routine accounts payable activities to help keep financial operations running smoothly and efficiently.

Requirements - Hands-on experience in accounts payable within a fast-paced business environment.

- Working knowledge of invoice coding and the ability to assign charges to the appropriate accounts accurately.

- Experience processing payments through ACH and managing check run activities.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, and missing information.

- Comfortable handling a high volume of invoices while meeting deadlines.

- Clear communication skills for working with vendors and cross-functional internal teams.
