Director of Tax Compliance & Reporting

Our client, a financial services organization in the New York metro area, is hiring a senior tax professional for its in-house tax function. The Bachrach Group is running the search.

• Prepare and review federal, state and local filings and information returns across a multi-entity structure
• Employment and payroll tax reporting across multiple states – remote worker nexus, deferred compensation, imputed income
• Employee benefit plan tax filings and the reporting cycle around them
• Withholding, documentation and reporting for non-resident payees
• Research technical positions, document them, and build and maintain written policies and procedures
• Handle federal and state notices and examinations
• Partner with accounting, payroll, legal and HR on anything carrying a tax consequence

• Bachelor’s in accounting; CPA required
• Fifteen or more years in tax, with substantial time at a large public accounting firm
• Deep compliance experience – someone who still does the work, not only reviews it
• Depth in one or more of employment tax, benefit plan tax, or information reporting
• Advanced Excel; comfortable working out of a large ERP
