Controller, Accounting, Financial Compliance

We are looking for a Controller to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

This is a strong opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader to take charge of financial reporting and controls while serving as a trusted partner to company leadership, in a hybrid role based in Marietta, GA.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting team through monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles
• Own the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements prepared under GAAP
• Serve as the main contact for external auditors and tax advisors throughout the year
• Design, document, and enforce internal controls that protect company assets
• Oversee cash positioning, bank relationships, and working capital management
• Work with executive leadership to build budgets, refine forecasts, and evaluate business performance
• Coach and develop accounting staff, setting clear expectations and growth paths
• Review and modernize accounting systems, workflows, and reporting packages
• Keep the company compliant with tax, regulatory, and lender reporting requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time leading a team
• Strong command of GAAP, internal controls, and the audit process
• Track record of improving close timelines and reporting quality
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
• Clear communicator who can explain financial results to non-finance leaders
• Comfortable managing priorities in a hybrid work environment
