Senior Accountant, Inventory

The Senior Accountant, Inventory, reporting to the Assistant Controller, will support the company's financial close process, maintain accurate and complete financial records, manage inventory accounting, and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role plays a critical part in month-end close, owns inventory and cost accounting, and supports with debt, fixed assets, and other accruals. The Senior Accountant, Inventory will partner extensively with Operations, Supply Chain, IT, and FP&A teams to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in a high-volume CPG environment.

This role is a full-time (40 hr/wk) salaried, exempt, remote position. The compensation range for the Senior Accountant, Inventory is $105,000 to $115,000 USD/year.

• Own key components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries with a focus on inventory-related items; prepare balance sheet reconciliations, investigate any variances, and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze inventory transactions across multiple sales channels and partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and IT to ensure inventory accuracy, proper cutoff, and strong internal controls.
• Calculate and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory reserves, and inventory obsolescence.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to cross-functional teams company-wide.
• Support various internal and external audits and tax compliance activities.
• Assist with the documentation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
• Identify, implement, and document opportunities to improve processes and controls across assigned areas, with a focus on inventory.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal accounting policies, and government regulations.
