Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant looking for a varied finance role with excellent flexibility and opportunities to develop your skills?

I am recruiting on behalf of an established business based in Stirling that is looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to join its friendly and supportive finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities, including month end reporting, reconciliations, credit control and financial processes.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play an important role in supporting the wider finance function.

Key Responsibilities

* Supporting month end and year end processes, ensuring reporting deadlines are met

* Assisting with financial reporting and budgeting activities

* Preparing monthly reconciliations, including cash and sales ledger balances

* Managing credit control activities and following up on outstanding payments

* Matching purchase orders, goods received notes and supplier invoices

* Preparing payment runs for purchase ledger, subcontractors and staff expenses

* Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries

* Assisting with monthly CIS submissions

* Supporting the wider finance team with day to day accounting activities

* Maintaining accurate financial records and documenting procedures

* Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and systems

* Taking on additional responsibilities as the role develops

What we're looking for

* Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role

* Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and accounting systems

* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

* High level of accuracy and attention to detail

* Confident communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships

* Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop

* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

* Comfortable working to deadlines in a busy finance environment

Working Hours
Monday to Friday, with working hours of 8.30am to 5.30pm and an early finish at 3.30pm.
Following probation, you will benefit from a 9 day fortnight, alongside the flexibility to work from home 3 days per week.
