Assistant Accountant

Temporary Assistant Accountant Nottingham Office based - 1 day work from home after successful training period Eaton Syalon are working with our Nottingham based client to recruit a temporary Assistant Accountant into their Finance team. The role will be initially a 6-month temporary role, reporting into the Head Of Finance. You'll support with a mix of transactional accounts work, whilst support the Head of Finance with Month-end tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with the month end accounts preparation
- Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments, correction and other month end journals as required
- Ownership of the Accounts Payable inbox
- Ownership of supplier queries and providing timely internal and external responses
- Ownership of maintaining the Accounts Payable tracker
- Raise Purchase Orders as required
- Support with producing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Support any upcoming transitions into new systems and tools
- Support with raising sales invoices with the Revenue Accountant
- Support with maintaining customer contracts in the Finance system
- Support with bank reconciliations and postings
- Assist with Accounts Receivable aged debt collection
- Assist with cashflow reporting
- Support VAT return preparation Person Profile:

- Will have varied transactional / month-end experience, most likely having worked as an Accounts Assistant / Assistant Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant most recently
- Strong Excel skills - SAP experience preferred but isn't essential
- The ability to hold conversations with all levels of business
- Must be able to commit to the initial 6-month temporary period
