Lead finance operations remotely across Canada at Newton, applying CPA expertise and IFRS knowledge to reporting, controls, and compliance. Support accurate financial guidance.
As Director of Finance, you will oversee financial operations, reporting, and controls for Newton’s crypto trading business. The role covers close management, payroll, reconciliations, tax processes, and accounting guidance. You will support organizational growth through stronger policies, documented processes, and quality financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:- Own monthly and annual close processes
- Oversee payroll, payables, receivables, and reconciliations
- Implement policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Ensure compliance with IFRS reporting standards
- Coordinate tax compliance, filings, and advisor discussions
- CPA designation with working IFRS knowledge
- At least 10 years of accounting experience
- Two busy external audit seasons at national or global firms
- Knowledge of CIRO Form 1 reporting
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency
