Financial Controller - Hybrid

Our client, a prominent financial services organization based in Centurion, Gauteng, ZA , is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller . This hybrid position requires a professional with a strong command of accounting principles and financial reporting standards to oversee the financial operations of the company. The role involves a mix of remote work and in-office presence, ensuring effective team collaboration and strategic oversight.

As a Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining robust internal controls. • Manage and oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate and manage the external audit process, serving as a key point of contact for auditors.
• Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads to develop accurate financial plans.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Implement and maintain effective internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Manage and develop the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Support ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed by senior management.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CPA) is mandatory.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards.
• Proven experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Experience in the Banking & Finance sector is highly advantageous.
• Must be able to work effectively in a hybrid arrangement, attending meetings and collaborating with teams in the Centurion, Gauteng, ZA office as required.
