Senior Auditor - Hybrid

Our client, a well-established firm within the financial sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to join their internal audit team. This hybrid role based in Sandton, Gauteng , offers a combination of essential office-based work for team collaboration and reporting, along with the flexibility of remote working. The Senior Auditor will be responsible for planning and executing financial, operational, and compliance audits.

You will assess internal controls, identify risks, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and safeguard assets. This role requires a thorough understanding of auditing principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to management. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and the effectiveness of operational processes. • Plan, conduct, and document financial, operational, and compliance audits.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.
• Identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies, and non-compliance issues.
• Develop practical recommendations for improving internal controls and business processes.
• Prepare clear and concise audit reports for management and the audit committee.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Stay current with relevant auditing standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with external auditors as needed.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with auditees and stakeholders across the organization.
• Participate in special investigations and ad-hoc projects as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification such as CIA, CA(SA), or CISA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in internal or external auditing, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Strong knowledge of auditing principles, standards, and methodologies.
• Proficiency in audit software and data analysis techniques.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously.
• Experience working in a hybrid environment, demonstrating strong time management and organizational skills.
