Job Description & How to Apply Below

We believe talent deserves a human touch. Your application will be read by an actual person who’s excited to discover the real you. At New Charter, we are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist (in other companies this person could hold the title of Accounts Receivable Analyst or Senior Billing and Collections Specialist) to manage accurate and timely billing, collections, and accounts receivable processes that support the company's financial operations and cash flow.

This is a remote position with occasional travel to our office. Candidates in the Eastern Time zone strongly preferred. In this role, you will collaborate with internal accounting and finance teams, external customers, and other stakeholders to manage invoicing, payment tracking, account reconciliations, and collections activities.

You will leverage accounting platforms such as Net Suite, Quick Books, or similar systems, along with Microsoft Excel, to maintain accurate financial records, monitor outstanding balances, and support financial reporting. To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong understanding of accounts receivable processes, accounting principles, and financial controls. You will take ownership of daily AR activities, proactively resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding receivables.

Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to communicate effectively will help maintain accurate financial records and support efficient month-end and year-end closing processes.

Job Responsibilities
  • Generate and distribute accurate customer invoices and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances.
  • Monitor customer accounts, track payments, and support timely collections activities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and organized records of accounts receivable transactions.
  • Prepare and analyze accounts receivable reports, including aging schedules and outstanding balance summaries.
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and account reconciliation differences.
  • Ensure compliance with established accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures.
  • Respond to customer billing and payment inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with internal accounting, finance, and operational teams to resolve account-related issues.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounts receivable processes, accuracy, and collection efficiency.
Required Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, collections, or general accounting.
  • Experience using accounting software such as Net Suite, Quick Books, or comparable financial management platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accounts receivable processes, and basic financial controls.
  • Experience with account reconciliations, collections management, and resolving billing discrepancies.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to organize, reconcile, and analyze financial data.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting month-end and year-end financial close processes.
  • Experience preparing accounts receivable aging reports and supporting financial audits.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience interacting with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to independently manage competing priorities while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced, remote team environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism…
