Associate Financial Reporting Accountant

Build financial reporting expertise as an Associate Accountant with Irving Oil, using reconciliations and analysis onsite at the home office.
This Associate Accountant supports Irving Oil’s finance team through monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activities. The work includes journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement disclosures, and audit documentation. You will also collaborate with Treasury, Tax, IT, FP&A, and Commodity Risk in a multi-currency environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare recurring and ad hoc journal entries
Assist monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
Perform account reconciliations and control activities
Contribute to financial statement note disclosures
Prepare working papers for internal and external audits
Requirements:
Post-secondary accounting-focused Business degree or certificate
One to two years of accounting experience
Strong accounting, reporting, and analytical thinking skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry
Issue identification and problem-solving skills
Bring precise reconciliations, financial reporting, and analytical skills to Irving Oil’s Associate Accountant team in a multi-currency environment.
