Tax Manager, Real Estate

Our client is a public accounting firm. They seek a Tax Manager, Real Estate to join their Manhattan, NY office.

• Manage and review federal, state, and local tax compliance for real estate clients, including partnerships, corporations, LLCs, and REITs
• Lead complex real estate tax engagements covering partnership allocations, 704(b) and 704(c), 754 elections, opportunity zones, like-kind exchanges (1031), and cost segregation considerations
• Oversee and review partnership tax returns (Forms 1065), K-1s, and related supporting schedules
• Identify and research complex tax issues; prepare technical memoranda and provide recommendations to clients and internal teams
• Advise clients on tax planning opportunities, entity structuring, acquisition/disposition strategies, and real-estate-specific tax implications
• Manage engagement budgeting, scheduling, and workflow to ensure timely delivery of high-quality work
• Mentor, train, and supervise junior team members, and provide performance feedback and support career development
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 5+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting
• Real estate industry required
• Knowledge of real estate tax concepts, partnership taxation, and related regulations
• Experience managing multiple engagements and leading teams
• Excellent communication skills
• CPA preferred
