Tax Manager - Remote to hybrid - Partner track

Our client, a global advisory firm with strong European connections, is hiring an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to be the first tax hire in its growing Philadelphia office. The office already has clients and team members in place, so this is a chance to build a tax offering on an established base instead of starting from scratch.

The role starts fully remote and will move to a hybrid model once there are enough people on the ground in Philadelphia. It is full-time and suits an entrepreneurially minded tax professional who wants to build something. The right person will have a clear and achievable route to becoming Tax Partner for the office.

This is a broad corporate tax role covering compliance, advisory and tax provision work for a portfolio of C Corporation and Partnership clients. Exposure to Manufacturing & Distribution clients is a strong advantage. As the first tax hire, you will work directly with leadership and help shape how the tax practice grows in the region, with the backing of a global firm.

• Manage federal and state tax compliance for C Corporations and Partnerships, including review of returns and supporting work papers
• Prepare and review income tax provisions under ASC 740, including quarterly and year-end provisions and related financial statement disclosures
• Advise clients on tax planning opportunities and help them understand the commercial impact of tax decisions
• Build strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and finance leaders
• Research complex federal and state tax issues and develop practical, tailored solutions
• Manage multiple engagements at once, delivering on time and on budget
• Help build the Philadelphia tax practice, including winning new work and growing existing relationships
• Work with colleagues across service lines and the firm’s international network to deliver integrated advice
• Recruit, mentor and develop junior team members as the office grows

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• 5+ years of tax experience, with a focus on C Corporations and Partnerships
• Broad experience across tax compliance, advisory and ASC 740 provision work
• Exposure to Manufacturing & Distribution clients strongly preferred
• Public accounting firm experience preferred
• CPA, JD or equivalent
• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, well-organized memos and client communications
• Experience with tax research tools and compliance software
• An entrepreneurial mindset and genuine interest in building a practice and a team
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, lead teams and communicate at every level
• Analytical, detail-oriented and client-focused, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Based in or willing to relocate to the Philadelphia area, given the future move to hybrid working
