Senior Tax Associate - R&D Tax Credits & Incentives (Remote, US BASED)

We're looking for a Senior Tax Associate who loves technical work, owns their results, and wants a visible impact at a growing, entrepreneurial firm.
What you’ll do- Lead client R&D credit and incentive projects from kickoff to final deliverables
- Prepare and review work papers, credit calculations, and technical memos
- Lead IRS and state audit defense
- Spot new credit opportunities for existing clients and bring them to leadership
- Improve our processes and help shape how a growing team works
First 90 days:
Learn our SOPs and deliver independent, high-quality client work on time, with minimal to zero material errors.
First 6 months:
Manage your own portfolio of client projects, shorten turnaround times, and earn 90%+ client satisfaction.
Year 1 and beyond:
Serve as lead technical reviewer, lead one process improvement each year, and share your expertise through training or published content.
- 4-6+ years of US tax experience, including R&D tax credits and/or other credits and incentives
- Successful IRS and/or state audit experience
- Knowledge of US GAAP, federal tax law, and SALT
- Advanced Excel and strong data analysis skills
- Clear, confident written and verbal communication
- Integrity, initiative, and the ability to juggle multiple projects without dropping details
- CPA, EA, or JD preferred but not required
- Fully remote (US-based candidates only)
