Staff Accountant - Hybrid Remote (50% in Office) Current Residence in the Louisville Area is Required

Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant will support the accounting team in executing the monthly close process, maintaining financial records, and preparing financial analyses. This role works closely with accounting, finance, and operations teams to ensure accurate reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
1–3 years of accounting experience (staff accountant, audit, or public accounting preferred)
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial analysis)
Experience working with general ledger systems and financial reporting
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the monthly and year-end close process
Prepare and post general ledger journal entries
Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
Prepare and analyze accrual-based financial statements
Perform variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and prior periods
Perform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and financial inquiries
Support internal reporting and financial analysis requests
Assist with process improvements and implementation of accounting procedures

Collaborate with accounting, finance, and operational teams across the organization
Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned

Preferred Experience:

Experience in healthcare accounting or public accounting
Experience supporting the month-end close process
Experience with financial statement preparation and analysis
