National Tax Senior Manager – Quality Assurance & Risk Management (Remote)

A nationally recognized CPA firm is seeking a National Tax Senior Manager – Quality Assurance & Risk Management to join its National Tax Team
. This is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates located anywhere within the United States.

This is an internal-facing role focused on supporting the firm's tax practice by mitigating risk, enhancing quality control procedures, and serving as a technical tax resource for professionals across the organization. Rather than managing a client book of business, this individual will work closely with firm leadership and tax professionals to promote compliance with tax standards, policies, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical tax resource for partners, directors, managers, and staff across the firm.
• Review complex tax matters and provide guidance on technical tax issues, regulations, and firm policies.
• Support the firm's tax quality control and risk management initiatives.
• Help identify, evaluate, and mitigate tax-related risks across engagement teams.
• Assist with developing and maintaining tax policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Participate in internal consultations on complex tax positions and compliance matters.
• Support training, education, and professional development initiatives for tax professionals.
• Collaborate with firm leadership to maintain quality standards and regulatory compliance.

Ideal Background

• 7+ years of tax experience within public accounting, corporate tax, or an equivalent professional environment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA, EA, JD, or LL.M. preferred.
• Strong technical tax knowledge and research capabilities.
• Experience with in public accounting, preferably at the Manager, Senior Manager, or Director level.
• A broad tax background is welcomed, with no specific industry or return specialization required
  .
• Professionals with a heavily compliance-focused background may be particularly well-suited for this role due to the nature of the work.
• Experience reviewing returns and advising on technical tax matters is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to advise and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
