A private family is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Houseman to join their household team. The successful candidate will accompany the principals to their various international residences, providing a seamless level of support and ensuring that daily operations run smoothly.

This is a highly varied role that combines hands‑on household duties, light cooking, staff support, and personal assistance. The ideal candidate will be flexible, caring, calm under pressure, well‑organised, and cheerful, with a can‑do attitude and willingness to travel frequently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cooking:
    Prepare simple, healthy meals for the principals as required
  • Household Support:
    Assist with day‑to‑day running of the home, including tidiness, light maintenance, and general household organization
  • House Management:
    Support household operations, liaising with and assisting other staff (housekeepers, drivers, chefs, etc) to ensure smooth service
  • PA & Administrative Support:
    Help coordinate logistics, errands, bookings, and any other ad hoc personal or administrative tasks
  • Staff Assistance & Recruitment:
    Support the principals in recruiting, on‑boarding, and coordinating household staff when needed
  • Valet/PA to the principal’s husband:
    Assist with wardrobe management, packing/unpacking, travel preparation, and general personal support
  • Travel:
    Accompany the principals between properties and ensure all needs are met during trips

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in a private household or similar service environment
  • Flexible and adaptable — comfortable with changing schedules and travel
  • Caring, calm, and discreet, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Organised and proactive, able to anticipate needs and multitask
  • Cheerful and positive, bringing a sense of warmth and reliability to the household
  • Holds a valid EU passport and right to work in the UK
