Our client has a vacancy for a Conveyancing Assistant to work closely within a team environment and act as first line of escalation for Conveyancing Administrators' queries and guidance. You will need to have at least one year’s experience in a similar role. This is a hybrid role offering a mix of office and home-based working.
Key Duties:Day to day management of sale files, escalating to the Conveyancer as and when necessaryObtaining Land Registry documents or title deeds as applicableDrafting sales contracts and agreeing terms with the conveyancer acting for the other party and dealing with enquiriesAssisting the Conveyancer with all purchase and other matters, escalating to the Conveyancer when necessaryDiarising and chasing matters as necessaryProvide professional telephone support to the teamPreparing accounts echits for all receipts and paymentsPreparing files for exchange of contracts – for approval by the ConveyancerPreparing files for completion – for approval by the Conveyancer including necessary letters and accounts paperworkDealing with completion of matters and preparing files for the post-completion teamManaging own email account efficientlyTo ensure that the case management system is accurate and kept up to date and that physical files are maintained in good orderAdditionally, where Administration support is not available, some or all of the following may be required from time to time:
Incoming & outgoing post collection/distributionOpening new matter files on business systemsAssisting with initial administration work on matter filesTaking customer card payments on accountIssuing customer forms and assisting in their completionApplying for searchesUsing the Land Registry portal to obtain copy deedsAssisting with telephone answering where appropriateGeneral admin duties including post, printing, scanning and photocopyingRequirements:
Relevant residential conveyancing experienceGood oral and written communication skillsAn energetic, enthusiastic, pro-active, problem-solving ethosGreat attention to detailAble to demonstrate an understanding of conveyancing protocolsEnsures all work is carried out in a professional, efficient manner adhering to compliance protocolsDue to the large number of responses we receive, it is not always possible to respond to every application straight away.
