DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
As the Administrative Assistant 1, you will support Penn Nursery by overseeing a broad portfolio of administrative, fiscal, procurement, and human resource functions essential to daily operations. Your work will include helping manage the nursery's overall budget and financial activities, coordinating purchasing and contract administration, and ensuring appropriate handling of revenue and expenditures.
You will also support personnel processes such as recruitment, onboarding, timekeeping, and employee documentation, while providing guidance on policy updates and administrative procedures. In addition, you will help maintain smooth office operations through reception support, communications, recordkeeping, and coordination of supplies, equipment, and facility needs. This position plays a key role in keeping administrative systems organized, compliant, and responsive to the operational needs of the nursery.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full‑time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
- Occasional travel may be required to attend trainings, meetings, or conferences.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part‑time, up to 2 days per pay period (2 weeks). In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Spring Mills.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four‑year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
