PURCHASING ASSISTANT$25+ per hour
Full-time (Mon‑Fri, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
Must live in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky to be eligible.
For over 25 years, ASIC has been at the forefront of expanding and modernizing automation and controls projects for manufacturing facilities, both large and small. We offer in‑house engineering services such as field service support, PLC/HMI programming and system integration/ design, and a full‑service, UL 508A‑certified cable assembly and panel building shop.
Job DescriptionASIC is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Assistant to join our team. This role plays an integral part in ensuring our projects are supplied with the right components, on time, and at the best value. Our work environment is highly customer‑driven, requiring the ability to multitask several requests at once or pause tasks to address more pressing issues as they arise.
Responsibilities- Obtain competitive pricing and quotes from vendors.
- Issue purchase orders and track order confirmations.
- Log costs into our ERP system to maintain accurate documentation.
- Monitor delivery schedules and follow up with suppliers to ensure on‑time arrivals.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to confirm material requirements.
- Assist in managing vendor relationships and resolving discrepancies.
- Previous experience in purchasing, supply chain, or administrative support (manufacturing or industrial environment preferred).
- Experience using Quick Books is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multi‑tasking abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
- Self‑starter with a problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt quickly and reprioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
