Job Description

The Trial Advocacy Workshop (TAW) Coordinator provides high-level administrative and logistical support for the Fall and Winter Trial Advocacy Workshops and faculty assistant support to the TAW Director. TAW is an intensive three-week program focused on trial practice skills through simulated exercises.

As a TAW Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:
Workshop Coordination
  • Serve as primary liaison for Fall/Winter TAW; ensure smooth communication and organization.
  • Partner with Academic Affairs for lecturer appointments; recruit and onboard Teaching Fellows.
  • Compile course materials, schedules, and assignments; produce handbooks for students and instructors.
  • Coordinate printing, digital resources, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Develop faculty team assignments, trial roles, and judging assignments.
Lecturer & Guest Management
  • Send invitations, manage registrations, and respond to inquiries.
  • Arrange travel and lodging for 60–100 guests; maintain rooming lists and process reimbursements.
Student Coordination
  • Work with Dean of Students Office to support students.
  • Prepare orientation materials, section assignments, and mock trial roles.
Logistics
  • Arrange catering, AV services, classroom scheduling, and event supplies.
  • Coordinate promotional materials, parking, and courthouse use for mock trials.
  • Maintain Canvas course page and inspect classrooms for readiness.
Faculty Assistant Support
  • Manage calendars, meetings, travel, and briefing documents.
  • Prepare materials using Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; handle calls and prioritize requests.
  • Organize course materials, exams, and grade submissions; maintain files and oversee student RAs.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of related administrative experience.

Qualifications and Skills:

We are looking for people who have:

  • BA/BS a plus.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office suite and the internet and willingness/ability to learn and adapt to new software and technologies.
  • Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication with a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and to respond to last-minute changes and shifting priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Initiative, exhibit sound judgment, have excellent organizational skills and be able to see projects through to completion.
  • Proven ability to deal with confidential and sensitive material/information in a professional manner.
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) oral/written skills and notary designation are a plus.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated experience with event planning a plus.

Standard Hours/

Schedule:

35 hours per week;
Full-time, M-F.
