Salary: The salary range for this position is $45,877.84 to $69,484.11 for Schedule A, and $45,877.84 to $62,203.88 for Schedule
B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to August 21, 2014, are considered Schedule
A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after August 21, 2014, are considered Schedule

Job DescriptionThe Criminal Division of the Bergen Vicinage is seeking a team‑oriented individual who possesses excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as technical competence. Under the direction of the Criminal Division Manager (Court Executive 2b) or other supervisory personnel, the selected candidate will provide clerical support, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
Remote WorkThe Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high‑speed home internet access.
The Judiciary Clerk 3 position may require work in an on‑site or virtual courtroom. Employees in these titles may function as a court clerk, performing related work including but not limited to: preparing, calling and annotating the court calendar; swearing in jurors; administering oaths to witnesses; maintaining custody of exhibits; and recording and maintaining records of court proceedings.
- Operate automated systems in a courtroom
- Prepare court orders and various other legal documents
- Interpret court orders and modify/update case information in automated case management systems
- Consult with judges, team leaders and/or law clerks regarding case management procedures
- Modify and/or update records or case‑related information
- Verify records for accuracy, completeness, or conformity
- Review clients' or customers' records
- Review case status with judges, managers, or supervisors
- Provide procedural information and documentation
- Perform other related duties as required
Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
Experience RequirementOne year of experience performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments. Ability to use a keyboard, no minimum speed.
Driver’s LicenseAppointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
