Entry Level Data Entry Operator (Remote)
The Health Department is actively searching for a skilled individual to perform the following essential functions of a Senior Data Entry Operator.
- Leads and monitors the work activities of data entry personnel.
- Sorts and files various reports and documents.
- Operates computers and oversees the operation of data entry input and output to ensure processing by schedule.
- May be responsible for reviewing immunization records for screening purposes only.
- Ensures all immunization screenings are performed in accordance with policies and procedures and undergo proper quality control and assurance measures.
- Monitors registration turnaround times.
- Assists with data entry and compilation.
The position is physically comfortable most of the time, with occasional periods of stooping, bending, and/or light lifting of materials up to 10 pounds.
Minimum Requirements Educational RequirementsKnowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and mathematical functions as might be acquired through specialized training up to 9 months beyond the high school level. May have simple vocational competence in the operation of mechanical or electronic equipment.
CertificationMay be required to pass a City administered typing test with a typing speed of 50 words per minute and no more than 5 errors.
Experience RequirementsTwo years of data entry experience or clerical/secretarial experience with a heavy volume of typing are required.
License RequirementsNone.
PreferencesPreference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants possessing the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), the ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English and Spanish
- Working knowledge of quality management and quality improvement methodologies
- Excellent written, oral, presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple, diverse assignments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and other basic email and web software
