Overview

Do you enjoy working from home and being part of a busy office environment? If so, we would like to hear from you. Business Support is a dynamic team supporting various departments across the local authority.
We provide a comprehensive administrative support service that includes management of service requests, handling of incoming calls, organisation of workflow and management of internal processes. As a member of Business Support you will be expected to undertake some or all of the following tasks (dependent on the service area you will support).
- Financial administration including purchase ordering, processing of invoices, collation and submission of timesheets to payroll, administration of petty cash, processing sundry debtor requests, card payments.
- Associated activities in relation to the organisation of meetings, including:
- Production of agendas and collation of agenda items
- Attending relevant meetings and panels to take notes / detailed minutes
- Distribution of actions / minutes to attendees and other relevant officers / external professionals
- Use of a variety of systems across the authority, including hybrid mail, Teams channels and Microsoft solutions.
- This is an agile post, working from home and regularly working from an office base, supporting teams within Children’s Services. The post holder would need to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and strong communication skills when collaborating with wider services and the team.
- We are looking for team players with the skills, experience and flexibility to prioritise and manage several tasks within a busy fast-paced environment, both within the office and whilst working from home. Exceptional IT skills, including working with MS 365, Office and Teams are essential attributes.
- Strong prioritisation, multitasking and organisational abilities in a busy environment.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with wider services and the team.
