- Location:
North Somerset and Bridgwater Offices (typically Weston Registration Office and Bridgwater Office). Ability to travel between registration offices in North Somerset and Somerset is required. - Hours:
Annualised 16 hours per week (primarily Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, 08:30‑17:00). Some weekend and Bank Holiday work may be required. - Salary:
Grade 12 – £12,366 to £13,864 per annum for 16 hours per week (equivalent £14.82‑£16.62 per hour). - Leave: 28 days annual leave (pro‑rata for part‑time).
- Contract:
Permanent.
As a Part‑time Registration Officer you will carry out a range of registration duties including births, deaths, marriages, civil partnerships, welcome ceremonies, still‑birth registrations and death‑bed weddings. You will need to follow legal procedures methodically and provide a positive experience for members of the public at key life events.
Responsibilities- Deliver key life events for residents of North Somerset and Somerset.
- Work flexibly across varying days and offices, with monthly shift agreements.
- Travel around the county as required.
- Provide professional, customer‑focused service at all events.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with statutory requirements.
- Customer‑focused with a desire to deliver a positive experience at key events.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Effective organisational skills, able to balance conflicting priorities and manage own workload.
- Grades 9‑4 (A*‑C/Level 4) in English and Maths or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths, or equivalent.

The salary for this role is Grade 12, ranging from £12,366 to £13,864 per annum for 16 hours per week (equivalent £14.82‑£16.62 per hour). Hours will be allocated on an annualised basis.
