About East Riding Pension Fund

East Riding Pension Fund, based in Goole, administers the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) on behalf of more than 340 employers and supports over 130,000 members. Our newly restructured administration team of 75 dedicated professionals is committed to delivering an exceptional pensions service. We are focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and providing high quality support to our members, employers, and stakeholders.

The Role

We're excited to offer opportunities to join us as a Pensions Administration Assistant, with vacancies available across both our Member Services and Member Data Services teams. If you're motivated, enjoy problem solving, and have great communication and customer service skills, this could be the perfect next step for you.

Whether you're directly supporting members or helping to maintain accurate and reliable pension data, you'll play a vital part in ensuring our service is accurate, responsive, and member focused.

You'll also be joining a friendly, supportive team that values collaboration and continuous learning.

Following a recent team restructure, we have multiple full time positions available, and we also welcome applications from those seeking part-time working arrangements.

No previous experience in LGPS administration is required - full training will be provided.

Depending on the team you join, your responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering accurate and timely services, including calculating pension benefits, processing refunds, and handling transfer payments
  • Supporting members by responding clearly, accurately, and empathetically to a wide range of queries
  • Handling and resolving pension‑related telephone enquiries, ensuring members receive clear guidance or appropriate sign‑posting
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing processes and communications
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high quality and accurate data
  • Liaising with scheme employers to support the monthly upload of pension data
  • Processing new joiner information and maintaining up to date member records
The Candidate

You will be confident, professional, and committed to delivering excellent customer service to our members, employers, and stakeholders. Working in a busy team with clear deadlines, you should bring:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good numeracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to use your initiative and manage your workload effectively
  • An empathetic and supportive approach when responding to member enquiries

We offer blended working arrangements to support a healthy work‑life balance. New starters will receive comprehensive training at our Goole office before moving to a flexible combination of office‑based and home working.
