Position: Administrative Assistant (Exams & Assessment)

Role Summary

The main purpose of this role is to provide essential administrative support to the Exams and Assessment team. The postholder will provide exam entry and exam results advice, guidance and support to NEC’s distance learning students, ensuring key tasks are carried out at set times of the year, as well as ensuring NEC compliance with awarding body examination and assessment regulations.

This role will also provide support to our prison learner service.

The role will report directly to the Exams and Assessment Manager.

Key Responsibilities

* Data & Entries:
Support the processing of exam entries to ensure accuracy and help meet awarding body deadlines.

* Inquiry Handling:
Respond to routine queries from students and parents regarding exam dates and entry processes, escalating complex advice or results issues to senior staff.

* System Maintenance:
Assist in updating and maintaining key exam and assessment information on NEC’s learner management system (Moodle) and the CRM system.

* Communication Tracking:
Maintain accurate records of all communications with students and exam centres on the CRM System.

* Prison Learners:
Assist in the process of assignment submission and feedback collection.

* Team Support:
Work flexibly with the team to ensure key dates on the exams Google calendar are met and provide general admin cover where required.

* Compliance:
Keep up-to-date with JCQ changes and regulations (including other awarding bodies).

Knowledge/Experience required

Essential

● A minimum of two years experience in a customer service and/or administrative role with an understanding of the importance of delivering high quality customer care

● Excellent IT skills

● Proactive and positive approach

● Confident to liaise at all levels and develop good working relationships

● Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail

● Strong communication and written skills

● Good time management and prioritising skills

Desirable

● Experienced education administrator ideally having a good understanding of examination requirements, exam entries and regulations

* Knowledge of education from GCSE level upwards

Analytical skills, able to present data

Working Arrangements

Hybrid Working:
The employee will work one day per week office-based, with the remaining working days home-based.

12 month Fixed Term Contract (temp to perm):
Part-time
-21 hours per week
