Clinical Booking Clerk - Booking Team PASS Band 2 Job overviewWe’re looking for a Booking Clerk to join our busy Patient Services Admin Team
You will be based at our Booking Centre at the Civic Office, Doncaster DN1 3BU
Please note this is a non patient facing role working on a hybrid basis
The department is open 5 days a week and the role will include working Monday - Friday between 8am - 5pm not including Bank Holidays or weekends.
Our Booking Team is a fast paced and high volume working environment.
There may be some requirement to cover at our scanning base onsite at Doncaster Royal Infirmary due periods of annual leave and sickness.
The post holder will work actioning booking appointments and taking calls from patients to negotiate new dates/times. The role involves working with divisions understanding and escalating capacity and demand issues.
Printing/scanning referrals for clinical triage through the E-Referral system.
Understanding/ utilising multiple reports to ensure clinical sessions are accurately booked.
Processing/actioning responses from text messages with Doctor Dr online system and email request changes.
The Patient Services Admin Team is fully committed to effective appraisal and any training and development will be actively encouraged and supported.
Main duties of the jobWorking with a team of highly committed staff, to provide a first class and effective Booking Team within Patient Services Admin.
Print & scan multiple referrals from E-Referral and arrange clinical grading.
Take calls and queries from patients in relation to appointments and sign post to other department within the hospital.
Engage with GP practices and advise on clinical service selections.
Utilise our texting service provider to inform patients of upcoming dates and promote attendance.
Engage in email conversations with patients in relation to hospital queries.
Manipulate and update numerous reports in support of chronological booking.
Provide administrative service support to facilitate the patient pathway.
Work flexibly to provide a booking service, processing of referrals and undertaking a range of general admin tasks.
Build and maintain close working relationships across the clinical administrative teams, using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure functions of the role are carried out correctly and within given timescales.
Ensure accurate data recording using the Patient Administration System (PAS) and E-referral and other systems; and via the use of multiple reports book outpatient appointments in accordance with clinical instruction and national/local waiting time target dates.
