Job Description & How to Apply Below

We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Legal Support Assistant (LSA) to join our busy Trusts & Estates team on a full‑time basis in our Bristol office. As an important part of the department, you’ll help deliver a smooth, efficient and professional PA and secretarial support service to your assigned fee‑earners.

The Trusts & Estates team at Ashfords works across a broad range of private client matters, including Wills, Probate and estate administration, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and wider estate and succession planning. The team also supports clients with the set‑up and administration of trusts, tax considerations, and the resolution of any disputes that may arise. This means your role will involve regular client contact and a meaningful contribution to work that often has a real and personal impact on clients’ lives.

Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include diary management, digital dictation and the preparation of correspondence, alongside producing and formatting documents and arranging travel and expenses. You’ll also work closely with colleagues across the firm, liaising with a variety of internal support teams and assisting other LSAs and fee‑earners when needed to help ensure the team continues to run smoothly.

Who you are

Previous experience as an LSA or in a strong administrative role would be helpful, and experience within a law firm, particularly in a Trusts & Estates team, would be an advantage though not essential. What matters most is that you bring enthusiasm, good organisational skills and a positive, self‑starting attitude.

You’ll enjoy working as part of a busy team but feel equally comfortable managing tasks independently. Professionalism, discretion and the ability to protect client confidentiality are essential, as the work often involves sensitive and personal matters. Strong interpersonal skills and a warm, can‑do approach will help you build effective working relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels.

This role is hybrid, with some flexibility to work from home but the ability to commute to Bristol city centre is important.

At Ashfords, we believe in more than just doing great work - we believe in building a great place to work.

When you join us, you become part of a team where everything we do is underpinned by our four core values:
Be Open, Think Team, Make a Difference and Always Grow. These values shape who we are and how we work - they guide our decisions, influence our culture, and drive the way we support our people, clients and communities.

With a clear focus on innovation, community involvement, and supporting a healthy work-life balance, we are committed to building an environment where our people can have a rewarding and meaningful career.

Whilst we recognise that every career journey is unique, we will be ambitious for you, giving you the tools, trust, and opportunities to develop your career, your way.

Our goal? To help you realise your full potential as part of a forward-thinking team.
