Your Impact

Are you looking to build your career in operational and business support within a high‑integrity, mission‑focused organisation? At Leonardo UK, our Access Coordinators play a vital role in enabling secure and compliant access to critical infrastructure and operational environments. This entry‑level role offers the opportunity to develop core skills in access management, service coordination, and stakeholder engagement, while working in a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Your work at Leonardo UK will see you take the lead in solving customer problems in an agile, innovative and team‑centric manner. The role may involve a blended hybrid working model, with a mixture of working from home and working on site at one of our Leonardo offices to ensure close collaboration with the wider team and with our customers.

Leonardo UK is seeking an Access Coordinator to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division team. This role is focused on delivering, maintaining, and improving platform and systems engineering solutions that underpin critical defence, government and public sector services.

What You Will Do As An Access Coordinator
  • Provide day‑to‑day administrative support for access control processes, including pass and permit applications, renewals, and temporary access requests.
  • Maintain accurate records of access permissions, training status, and compliance documentation using tools such as SharePoint, Excel, and internal databases.
  • Support the Access Manager in ensuring all pass holders meet site‑specific requirements and operate within approved procedures.
  • Assist with the coordination of security interviews and work permit administration for business‑as‑usual and urgent escalations.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external authorities to ensure timely resolution of access‑related queries and issues.
  • Monitor and report on access compliance, escalating risks or anomalies as appropriate.
  • Process invoices and contribute to financial tracking related to access services.
  • Contribute to service reviews and continuous improvement initiatives related to access and site coordination.
What You’ll Bring
  • A strong interest in operational support, compliance, or service coordination.
  • Some experience (e.g., through internships, placements, or academic projects) in administrative or business support environments.
  • Basic understanding of access control, compliance, or service management principles.
  • Familiarity with collaboration and documentation tools such as SharePoint, Excel, or similar platforms.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and follow structured procedures.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Core Areas (Must Have)
  • Access Documentation – ability to maintain accurate records and follow documentation standards.

  • Team Collaboration – experience working in teams, with a willingness to support others.
  • Problem Escalation – ability to identify issues and escalation appropriately.
  • Learning Mindset – demonstrates curiosity and commitment to professional development.

  • Interest in pursuing professional certification (e.g., ITIL Foundation, SIAM).

This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.
