Job Introduction

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Housing Technical Support Officer to join our Private Sector Housing team. With the commencement of the Renters' Rights Act and the impending Additional Licensing of HMOs in the Borough, this is an exciting time to join the team to play a key role in improving housing standards, supporting enforcement activity, and contributing to safer, better‑quality homes in our communities.

You’ll work as an authorised officer, providing technical, operational and administrative support across a range of housing functions, including licensing, compliance, and case management.

Key Responsibilities

In this varied and impactful role, you will:

  • Manage and respond to service requests, including case monitoring, site visits and follow‑up actions
  • Maintain and update key systems, including the Housing Notices Register and Rogue Landlord Prosecution database
  • Produce accurate records, reports and responses to formal information requests such as FOIs
  • Support service improvements, income generation initiatives, and promotional activities
About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Preferably has experience in a regulatory or enforcement environment
  • Demonstrates strong communication, organisation and analytical skills
  • Has knowledge of housing legislation and enforcement processes, or the ability to develop this quickly
  • Is confident working both independently and as part of a team
  • Can manage competing priorities and respond effectively to a fast‑paced, changing workload

You’ll also need a good standard of education (GCSEs including English and Maths, or equivalent experience) and be confident using IT systems and databases.

What we offer
  • We offer competitive salaries and a fantastic leave package — starting at 24 days, rising to 32 days with service, plus 8 bank holidays and an extra concessionary day to enjoy.
  • Staff discounts & salary sacrifice perks
  • Hybrid working model — whether you’re in the office or working from home, we support a balance that fits your personal and family commitments.

Please note:

We do not hold a sponsorship licence for visas.
