Job Description & How to Apply Below

We're recruiting for a part-time Programme Administrator to join the team behind the scenes at the Byre Theatre.

Join one of St Andrews' most-loved venues and help create memorable experiences for thousands of audience members every year. If you're organised, collaborative and enjoy making complex projects run smoothly, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a 0.5 FTE post, ideal for someone looking for rewarding part-time work in a creative and fast-paced environment.

The Programme Administrator is a key behind-the-scenes role, working as part of a highly skilled team to deliver an exceptionally busy programme of performances, events and community activity. The successful candidate will be part of the Programme and Marketing team, coordinating the administrative processes that take performances and events from initial enquiry through to delivery and settlement.

Acting as a central hub of information, you'll work across departments, artists, visiting companies and partners to ensure the smooth planning and delivery of activity across the theatre. You'll also support financial administration, including event settlements and payment processing, while helping to maintain and improve the systems and processes that underpin the theatre's work.

The role is primarily based at the Byre Theatre in St Andrews, with some flexibility for home working where this supports the needs of the team and the theatre.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience of administrative, financial processes and systems
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks, projects and priorities at one time
  • Ability to suggest and implement robust solutions to improve processes and procedures

Interview Date: week commencing 6 July 2026
