Role Overview
Part‑time (17.5 hours per week) position based at the Canterbury campus. The Administrator (Careers & Employability) provides administrative support in Careers, Employability & Skills on a wide range of projects, employer events and engagement activities.
You will play a central role in supporting both undergraduate and postgraduate students in assessing placement and employability initiatives within and outside of the curriculum, and in organising multiple high‑profile student events including Careers Fairs, Employability Festival, employer engagement sessions, as well as Graduate Outcomes data collection and placement administration.
Key Responsibilities- Providing admin support including welcoming visitors, responding to queries and managing shared email inboxes and phone lines, as well as proactively contacting students.
- Maintaining and updating employer contact records and event participation data using the University’s careers management system (Target Connect) and other databases.
- Supporting employer communications including preparing event promotional materials, updating web content, and assisting with employer email campaigns.
- Supporting the administration and data collection for key institutional exercises such as the Graduate Outcomes survey.
- Experience of working in a busy office environment with excellent customer service delivery.
- Experience of handling external and internal enquiries and providing a positive first impression.
- Experience of maintaining accurate electronic records and using databases regularly.
- A high level of organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Hybrid working options allowing a flexible blend of office and home working (to be agreed in line with business needs).
- 43 days’ leave per year (personal leave, bank holidays and additional days allocated for the Christmas period, pro rata for part‑time staff).
