About

the role

Your work pattern will be 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday‑Thursday and 8.30am – 4.00pm on Friday, which are the office opening hours. As our Assistant Administrator, you will work under the direction of the Programme Administrator and as a member of the team, you will contribute to the delivery of a customer focused, cost effective and efficient administrative support service.

What we’re looking for
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative assistant role, although it’s not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills paired with a friendly and professional demeanour are essential to the success in this position.
  • Strong organisational abilities, coupled with the capacity to multitask and prioritise effectively are key.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, are required.
  • Experience operating effectively as a member of an administrative team within a customer service environment.
  • Flexibility and resilience in an ever‑changing environment.
  • Experience working in a medical or education function/environment (or equivalent) would be desirable.
  • Good communication skills, teamwork and data reporting are essential.

You should be comfortable working both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast‑paced environment will be key attributes for this role.

You will be based at the student‑facing Faculty Office in Portland Square (University Main Campus) although occasionally travel to other sites (primarily John Bull Building, North Campus) may be required.

Due to the nature of the role, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate working from home.

We’re currently unable to sponsor this role under the Skilled Worker visa route. However, we welcome applicants who already have the right to work in the UK, including those on visa routes we can accept (e.g. Graduate visas).
