This vacancy is for a leading solar installation company delivering renewable energy projects across the United Kingdom. As our workforce continues to grow and diversify, we are seeking a dedicated Translator / Operative Support Coordinator to facilitate effective communication between the business and our multilingual workforce, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Role OverviewThe Translator & Workforce Coordinator must be fluent in Bulgarian, other languages will be an advantage, and will play a vital role in supporting both site-based operatives and management teams by providing translation services and administrative support. The successful candidate will act as a key point of contact for non-English-speaking operatives, helping to overcome language barriers and ensuring compliance with company processes and project requirements.
The role is primarily remote; however, occasional travel to project sites across the UK will be required to support operational activities and workforce engagement.
Key Responsibilities Translation and Communication- Provide accurate verbal and written translation services between operatives and management teams and ensuring where required issues are escalated as per internal process.
- Act as a translator during site inductions, toolbox talks, meetings, welfare discussions, and disciplinary or performance-related conversations where required.
- Facilitate clear communication between operatives, Site Supervisors, Project Managers, and office-based teams.
- Translate company documentation, notices, policies, and procedures as required.
- Assist operatives with setting up UK bank accounts and understanding banking requirements.
- Support operatives with accommodation, welfare matters, and other practical requirements associated with working on UK projects.
- Assist with holiday requests, leave management, and related workforce administration.
- Support new starters through onboarding processes and ensure they understand company expectations and procedures.
- Help operatives understand company policies, site rules, and health and safety requirements.
- Liaise with Site Supervisors, Site Managers, and Project Managers to understand workforce requirements and project priorities.
- Ensure information is communicated effectively to operatives to support the timely delivery of projects in line with project programmes.
- Assist in resolving communication issues that may impact productivity, quality, or project delivery.
- Attend project sites when required to provide on-site translation and workforce support.
- Assist operatives with the submission of CIS invoices and related documentation where required.
- Maintain accurate records of workforce documentation and communications.
- Support the collection and submission of timesheets, invoices, and other project-related paperwork.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance when handling personal and company information.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Fluent spoken and written Bulgarian
- Based in the United Kingdom with the ability to travel to project sites when required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience supporting a multilingual workforce.
- Additional language skills would be advantageous.
- UK Driving Licence advantageous
- Professional, approachable, and trustworthy.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with operatives and management.
- Flexible and willing to respond to changing business requirements.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters professionally.
