About the role

We are seeking a part-time Course Assistant to support the delivery of the MSc in Surgical Science and Practice (MSc SSP) and the Postgraduate Certificate in Patient Safety and Quality Improvement (PGCert PSQI) programmes.

The post is based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, with the opportunity to agree a regular remote working arrangement with your line manager. In general there is flexibility on which days of the week are to be worked. However for certain programme activities, you will be required to work particular days, for example Mondays when teaching weeks are running (we run five teaching weeks per year).

Some programme activities take place at an Oxford college or other University location. You will therefore be required to be available to provide administrative support on‑site when needed.

As part of the core administrative team for these programmes, you will provide high‑quality administrative support to ensure their smooth and effective delivery. Working closely with the Course Coordinator and colleagues across academic and professional services teams, you will coordinate student and academic administration, manage programme communications, maintain accurate records and databases, and support teaching, assessment and other programme activities. The role supports learners, mostly full‑time clinicians, studying on part‑time postgraduate programmes.

This is a part‑time, permanent post and is available immediately.

About you

The successful candidate will have proven administrative experience, preferably within higher education, and excellent organisational, communication and IT skills. You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and deadlines, and confident communicating with students and colleagues across the University. A flexible, collaborative approach is essential. Experience of using Panopto, Canvas, Microsoft Teams, eVision, or similar systems, would be advantageous.

Committed

to equality and valuing diversity

Salary (£) : £32,108 - £37,338 per annum pro rata (including the Oxford University Weighting of £1,730 per annum - pro rata for part‑time)

Only applications received before noon Monday 24 August 2026 can be considered.

Interviews will be held on or after Thursday 3 September 2026.
