As a Founding Volunteer Administrator, you will help build the systems that allow S.W.U.G. to grow sustainably and professionally.
Your work will help improve organisation, communication and volunteer coordination while supporting future projects that create positive opportunities for young people and strengthen local communities.
By helping establish effective administrative processes from the beginning, you will contribute directly to the long‑term success of the organisation and become part of the team that helped shape S.W.U.G. during its founding stage.
This role is about more than administration—it is about helping build an organisation that aims to make a lasting difference within the community.
What are we looking for?We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and community-minded individuals who are passionate about creating positive opportunities for young people.
As a skills‑based volunteering organisation, we are particularly interested in volunteers with at least three years' relevant professional experience in administration, project coordination, office management or a similar role.
Our ideal volunteer will be- Well organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Able to communicate professionally with volunteers, partners and external organisations.
- Comfortable managing information accurately and maintaining confidentiality.
- Proactive, dependable and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Passionate about supporting community projects and making a meaningful social impact.
- Able to commit to helping build a growing organisation from the ground up.
Experience with in the charity, community, education or voluntary sector would be beneficial but is not essential. We welcome applicants from a range of professional backgrounds who are excited by the opportunity to help shape S.W.U.G. during an exciting period of growth.

Hybrid What will you be doing?Show What U Got (S.W.U.G.) is seeking a passionate and organised Founding Volunteer Administrator to join our founding team during an exciting stage of the organisation's development.
Working closely with the Founder & Chief Executive Officer, you will help establish the administrative systems that will support the organisation as it grows.
This is an opportunity to become part of the team building S.W.U.G. from the ground up, helping lay the foundations for future volunteers, projects and community programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Support the day-to-day administration of the organisation.
- Organise and maintain digital records and documentation.
- Assist with email management and correspondence.
- Prepare agendas and meeting notes where required.
- Support volunteer recruitment and onboarding administration.
- Help develop efficient administrative systems and processes.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Provide general administrative support across organisational activities.
This flexible volunteer role is primarily home-based using approved digital systems, with occasional meetings and community events in Portsmouth where appropriate.
Skills & ExperienceApplicants should have at least three years of relevant professional experience in administration, office management, project support, volunteer management or a similar role. We are looking for someone who is organised, dependable, professional, communicates well and enjoys helping build organisations that make a positive difference.
