The Role
Balfour Beatty is looking for a Facilities Assistant to join our Netherton Project, supporting our UKCS Scotland business.
This is a key site-based support role, helping to ensure our project teams have the right facilities, welfare provisions, stores support and day-to-day office assistance in place to operate safely and efficiently. You’ll play an important part in keeping the site environment well organised, compliant and running smoothly, working closely with operational, health and safety, facilities and site-based teams.
This role would suit someone who is organised, practical and adaptable, with the confidence to manage varied tasks in a busy project environment.
What you ll be doing

As a Facilities Assistant, You Will

  • Support the management of site office facilities and welfare provisions, including equipment, cleaning, hygiene standards and general office accommodation
  • Manage office supplies, services and facilities requirements in conjunction with relevant departments, including Operations and Health, Safety and Wellbeing teams
  • Manage site stores and stock control processes, ensuring materials are received, stored, issued and recorded appropriately
  • Maintain agreed stock levels while helping to minimise losses
  • Coordinate potable and non-potable water supplies across relevant site compounds
  • Monitor and coordinate septic tank servicing and emptying requirements across designated site areas
  • Build effective working relationships with General Foremen and site teams to ensure facilities, utility and welfare issues are identified and resolved promptly and safely
  • Implement and maintain administrative processes and systems in line with project and company requirements
  • Support continuous improvement and lean working practices within the office and facilities function
  • Provide reception and general office support cover as required
  • Liaise with site cleaning personnel to ensure welfare, canteen and kitchen facilities are maintained to the required standard
  • Act as a key point of contact for ordering and replenishing site consumables, including tea, coffee, hygiene products and other sundry items
  • Coordinate waste management activities, including liaising with waste contractors and arranging the emptying of skips and dumpsters
  • Carry out other reasonable administrative and facilities-related duties as directed by the line manager
  • Maintain a strong focus on health, safety and wellbeing, supporting Balfour Beatty’s Zero Harm objectives
Who we re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities within a busy site environment.
You’ll have strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with a range of colleagues and site teams. You ll be comfortable working both as part of a team and on your own initiative, using a practical approach to problem solving and day-to-day decision making.
