Are you organised, proactive and ready to make a real difference for children, young people and families in Torbay? We are looking for an enthusiastic Business Support Officer to join our Children’s Services Business Support team on a fixed term contract.
In this varied and fast-paced role, you will provide vital administrative support across the service, helping colleagues deliver high-quality work that improves outcomes for children and families. From organising meetings and taking accurate minutes to managing enquiries, supporting office systems and assisting with day-to-day team administration, no two days will be the same.
We are looking for someone with strong communication and organisational skills, confidence using Microsoft Office, a positive approach to teamwork and the resilience to manage competing priorities. If you enjoy being at the heart of a busy service and want to play a part in supporting Children’s Services to do their best work, we would love to hear from you.
This post is eligible for 'hybrid' working, a combination of office based and home working. However, there is a requirement for the candidate to be office based initially to receive training and support.

This position is for a fixed term until 31st March 2027.
Interviews are expected to be conducted during the week commencing 31st August 2026.
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
Knowledge Essential:- Experience of working with a range of IT software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet Explorer.
- Experience of working in a busy office using a range of administration procedures.
- Experience of working within a team.
- Educated to GCSE O Level standard or equivalent.
