Our client is looking for an organised, proactive Medical Administrator to join a busy and well-regarded Surgical private practice. This is a permanent part-time position (20 hours per week approx) with the potential for additional hours to cover leave or shared office workloads.
You’ll work closely with the surgeon on some days, and independently within a supportive admin team on others. The environment is professional, friendly, and patient-focused - ideal for someone who enjoys variety and thrives in a fast-paced setting. Experience working within the medical sector is not required for someone who has the other skills.
What You'll Be Doing- Managing day-to-day administrative operations
- Providing exceptional service to patients, referrers, and external providers
- Scheduling appointments and coordinating with medical practices, insurers, and reps
- Preparing and typing clinical letters
- Maintaining accurate records using Elixir practice management software
- Supporting the surgeon with clinical administration
- General office duties and problem-solving as required
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and professional presentation
- Confidence managing upset or anxious patients with empathy and calm
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems
- Accurate typing skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Flexibility with hours (occasional 8am starts or 6pm finishes)
