About the Way to Learn Service

At Way to Learn, we believe everyone deserves a second chance  specialize in providing high-quality learning opportunities to individuals who have been disenfranchised by mainstream education, including those within the prison system and those requiring remedial support. Our mission is to break down barriers to learning and empower our students to build a better future.

This is a remote part-time FTC role for 5 months, totalling 32 hours per week. The working hours are Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5.30pm within in a hybrid capacity, based at the Thetford office, with some home working when appropriate.

The Role

We are seeking a highly organised, empathetic, and detail-oriented Educational Administrative Assistant to join our team in Thetford. This is a multifaceted role where you will support the Way to Learn Manager in the day-to-day operations of our service. You will play a vital part in the "student journey," from the moment a workbook is submitted to the day a certificate is issued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Educational Support:
    Marking student workbooks with accuracy and providing constructive feedback (training provided).
  • Certification:
    Managing the end-to-end certification process to ensure learners receive their qualifications promptly.
  • Data & Admin:
    Maintaining accurate student records using Microsoft Excel and ensuring all digital filing is up to date.
  • Communication:
    Acting as a key point of contact for stakeholders, clients, and partners via email and telephone.
  • Managerial Support:
    Assisting the Way to Learn Manager with diary management, report preparation, and general office duties.
  • Compliance:
    Ensuring all work meets our high standards of quality and confidentiality.
What You Will Bring
  • Educational Background:
    Previous experience or training within an educational setting is essential.
  • Tech Savvy:
    You must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills (essential for marking and stakeholder liaison).
  • Empathy: A non-judgmental approach and a genuine passion for supporting those who have struggled with traditional learning.
  • Attention to Detail:
    High levels of accuracy in data entry and marking.
