East Lindsey District Council are looking for an Admin Assistant to assist the Markets Team deliver its markets.
Covering several markets across East Lindsey, Boston Borough and South Holland, you will help deliver a high performing and fit for purpose markets service. You will be expected to work with each Market Officer from each Council and initially attend all markets to understand the layout and operations of each.
You will provide operational support in many ways such as, updating our new online and booking payment system across all 3 Councils, take phone calls to provide advice and guidance on the new system, update relevant Excel spreadsheets, log occupancy figures, provide up to date market maps to Erection teams across all 3 Councils by daily deadlines, process trader applications and deal with any enquiries relating to the markets.
You will also assist with the Markets social media platforms in promoting the market, scheduling posts and updating the public which traders will be attending the next days market.
This role will be mainly office/home based, but you will be required to attend Spilsby Market each Monday. In the absence of the Market Officer, you will be required to occasionally attend the outdoor markets to liaise with Market Traders, conduct basic health and safety checks and support the day to day running of the market.
You will also be part of a small team who will advise traders on the new, online booking and payments platform, supporting them throughout their application onwards.
What will I need?
- Full driving licence or ability to attend markets when required at short notice/early hours.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office, particular Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong computer skills, able to learn and manage new online systems
- Experience of social media
- Saturday working required occasionally
Working days are:
Monday – Friday – 9am-5pm
Occasional Saturday working

This position is a shared role within the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership (SELCP) and forms part of the S113 agreement between the participating partnership Councils in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement 1st October 2021.
