Licensing Support Officer - Part Time - EH0369 Licensing Fixed Term Contract - PT Licensing Support Officer Fixed Term - until 30th March 2027 Part Time (18.5 hours per week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) Petersfield/ Hybrid Remote Working

This is an exciting opportunity to join the busy Licensing Team at EHDC.

The team deals with the administration and enforcement of the licensing requirements relating to the Licensing Act 2003, the Gambling Act 2005, pavement cafés, street trading, road closures, scrap metal dealers and hackney carriage and private hire vehicles and drivers.

We are looking to recruit a Licensing Support Officer to undertake the daily administrative functions of the team. This involves using a variety of IT systems and databases including outlook, sharepoint and a specialist cloud based licensing system. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise to meet short statutory targets while maintaining a high degree of accuracy in their work.

The work also demands a high degree of confidentiality to process applications and support the Licensing Officers in their enforcement work. You should be committed to working closely with colleagues in a team and to achieving team as well as individual targets. Strong communication skills are also required to advise customers on a wide range of licensing requirements.

Previous experience in a customer facing role is desirable, however motivation to learn and enthusiasm to work as part of a team and to take on responsibility is equally important.

The position will comprise a hybrid style of working with a mix of both home and office-based working. To complement colleagues in the Licensing Team, we are looking for the part-time hours to be worked Wednesday – Friday, with a half day on the Thursday. Office based working will be a minimum of one day per week. The Council is based in bespoke offices near Petersfield town centre and the railway station, which offer greater use of technology and better commute paths for staff.

In return for your valued contribution, we can offer you a competitive benefits package which includes training and development opportunities, generous annual leave and flexi time, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and more.
